<p >The arcade shield is based upon the XMOS L1 processor. The shields purpose is to provide graphical capability to SolderCore and other 3V3 based Arduino form factor modules. Processors boards communicate with Arcade shield using SPI, minimising the use of the limited I/O pins.
To successfully generate a full colour VGA image on a suitable display requires 5 signals a return line and some careful timing. Three of these signals are analogue, Red, Green and Blue. The RGB signals vary from 0V to 0.7V and are designed to drive into a 75Ω load.
